DTC P1564: Powertrain Control Module Detects Rapid Acceleration: Description

Cruise Control Module (CCM) uses a cruise engaged circuit to request cruise control. If improper conditions exists, Powertrain Control Module (PCM) will disable cruise control through cruise inhibit control circuit. During cruise control, if a sudden rate of increase in vehicle speed occurs, PCM will inhibit cruise control system and store DTC P1564. PCM detects an extremely rapid rate of vehicle acceleration. A history DTC will clear after 40 consecutive warm-up cycles have occurred without a malfunction.
