DTC B2560: Remote Keyless Entry Message Validation Error: Description

Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) receiver is integrated into the BCM. Keyless entry transmitter signals contain specific data to indicate which function is being requested. RKE receiver transfers request to BCM to perform requested function (e.g., LOCK/UNLOCK driver door).

DTC B2560 will set when a message is received with correct transmitter ID but accompanying security information cannot be validated. A message validation counter is increased each time RKE receiver receives consecutive incorrect security information. When counter reaches 16, a DTC B2560 is set and receiver operation will be disabled for at least 20 seconds.
