Suction Screen: Installation

  1. Insert the Sizing Tool into the suction hose to select the correct size suction screen. See Fig 2.
  2. Insert the suction screen into the suction hose. Install the Mandrel to Installation Tool. See Fig 3.
    3. NOTE: Correct placement of the Installation Tool is critical.
  3. Install the Suction Screen Installation Tool over the end of the suction hose and the suction screen. See Fig 4. Tighten the forcing screw of the Suction Tool Installer. The suction screen is fully installed when the screen is flush with the end of the suction hose. Remove the Installation Tool from the suction hose.
  4. Install NEW seal washers on A/C compressor hose assembly. Install the A/C compressor hose assembly to the A/C compressor. Install the A/C compressor hose assembly bolt and tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  5. Recharge the A/C system. See RECOVERY, EVACUATION & RECHARGING in GENERAL SERVICING PROCEDURES article in GENERAL SERVICING.
  6. Leak test the fittings of the component. See LEAK TESTING in GENERAL SERVICING PROCEDURES article in GENERAL SERVICING.
