Memory Seat System Check
- Perform POWER SEAT DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. If DTCs are not present, diagnose by symptom. See SYMPTOM TESTS . If power seat does not operate, see TEST J: POWER SEAT INOPERATIVE - WITH A45 under SYMPTOM TESTS.
- Operate driver's seat rear height switch up and down. Rear of seat should move up and down. If rear of seat does not move up and down, see TEST P: POWER SEAT DOES NOT TILT REARWARD - WITH A45 under SYMPTOM TESTS.
- Operate driver's seat front height switch up and down. Front of seat should move up and down. If front of seat does not move up and down, see TEST N: POWER SEAT DOES NOT TILT FORWARD - WITH A45 under SYMPTOM TESTS.
- Operate driver's seat switch to slide seat forward and backward. Entire seat should move forward and backward. If entire seat does not move forward and backward, see TEST L: POWER SEAT DOES NOT MOVE FORWARD/REARWARD - WITH A45 under SYMPTOM TESTS.
- Operate driver's seat back recline switch forward and backward. Seat back should move forward and backward. If seat back does not move forward and backward, see TEST R: POWER SEAT DOES NOT RECLINE - WITH A45 under SYMPTOM TESTS.
- Operate driver's headrest switch up and down. Headrest should move up and down. If headrest does not move up and down, see TEST T: POWER HEADREST DOES NOT MOVE UP/DOWN - WITH A45 under SYMPTOM TESTS.
- Depress "1" button on memory function switch. A single chime should be heard, driver's seat and headrest should move to position programmed memory seat module for "1" button. Lumbar support, steering wheel and mirrors may also adjust to different positions set into memory seat module under "1" button. If seat does not function as described, see TEST U: POWER SEATS - MEMORY SWITCH INOPERATIVE under SYMPTOM TESTS.
- Depress "2" button on memory function switch. A single chime should be heard, driver's seat and headrest should move to position programmed into memory seat module for "2" button. Lumbar support, steering wheel and mirrors may also adjust to different positions set into memory seat module under "2" button. If seat does not function as described, see TEST U: POWER SEATS - MEMORY SWITCH INOPERATIVE under SYMPTOM TESTS.
- Depress EXIT button on memory function switch. A single chime should be heard and driver's seat should move back to exit position. Steering wheel will also move up to exit position. If seat does not function as described, see TEST U: POWER SEATS - MEMORY SWITCH INOPERATIVE under SYMPTOM TESTS.
- Move driver's seat and headrest to desired position. Driver seat and head rest should move to desired positions. Depress MEMORY SET button on memory function switch followed by depressing "1" button within 5 seconds of depressing MEMORY SET button. Single chime will be heard indicating seat position, headrest position, lumbar setting, steering wheel position and mirror position are programmed for "1" button. Move driver's seat and headrest in all directions. Depress "1" button on memory function switch. Driver seat, headrest, lumbar, steering wheel and mirrors should move to position programmed for "1" button. - Apply parking brake. Move gear selector lever out of Park. Depress "1" button on memory function switch. Driver seat and headrest should not move. If seat and/or headrest move, see appropriate wiring diagram in SHIFT INTERLOCK SYSTEMS article.
- Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Move gear selector lever to Park. Depress unlock button on driver's No. 1 keyless entry transmitter. Depress unlock button on driver's No. 2 keyless entry transmitter. Driver seat will move to one of 3 programmed positions. See MEMORY SEAT under OPERATION.
