Test 2: Power Seat Inoperative - With A45
- Perform POWER SEAT DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM in POWER SEATS - SEVILLE article. Go to next step.
- Install a scan tool. Turn ignition switch to ON position, engine off. Using scan tool, observe any one seat directional parameter in MEMORY SEAT MODULE data list. Activate seat switch in direction of observed parameter. If seat parameter changes state, go to step 7 . If seat parameter does not change state, go to next step.
- Measure voltage between ground and memory seat module connector C1 terminal "A" (Orange wire). If voltage is 9-16 volts, go to next step. If voltage is not 9-16 volts, go to step 8 .
- Using test light connected to ground, backprobe one seat switch input circuit at memory seat module connector. Activate appropriate seat switch. If test light illuminates, go to step 7 . If test light does not illuminate, go to next step.
- Check Orange wire between power seat switch and MEM T&T fuse (10-amp) in rear junction block for high resistance or open. If problem is found, repair as necessary, then go to step 11 . If problem is not found, go to next step.
- Check power seat switch connector for poor connections. If problem is found, repair as necessary, then go to step 11 . If problem is not found, go to step 9 .
- Check memory seat module connector for poor connections. If problem is found, repair as necessary, then go to step 11 . If problem is not found, go to step 10 .
- Repair high resistance or open in Orange wire between Memory Seat Module (MSM) and rear junction block. After repairs, go to step 11 .
- Replace power seat switch. See POWER SEAT SWITCHES under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION in POWER SEATS - SEVILLE article. After repairs, go to step 11 .
- Replace MSM. See MEMORY SEAT MODULE under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. After repairs, go to next step.
- Operate system to verify repair. If system operates normally, repair is complete. If system does not operate normally, return to step 2 .
