Tachometer Does Not Operate (Gasoline)

  1. Disconnect instrument cluster connector. Disconnect ignition coil connector. Connect test light between instrument cluster connector terminal No. 6 (White wire) and ground. See Figure. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If test light does not illuminate, go to next step. If test light illuminates, repair short to ground in White wire between instrument cluster and ignition coil.
  2. Connect test light between instrument cluster connector terminal No. 6 (White wire) and ignition coil connector terminal "B" (White wire). See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If test light illuminates, replace instrument cluster. If test light does not illuminate, repair open in White wire between instrument cluster and ignition coil.
