Door Systems Diagnostic System Check
- Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). DLC is located below left side of instrument panel, on hood release bracket. If scan tool powers up, go to next step. If scan tool does not power up, perform TEST A: SCAN TOOL DOES NOT POWER UP under SYSTEM TESTS in BODY CONTROL MODULES - ELDORADO article.
- Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Using scan tool, attempt to communicate with Memory Mirror Module (MMM), and Powertrain Control Module (PCM). If scan tool communicates with MMM and PCM, go to next step. If scan tool does not communicate with MMM and PCM, perform TEST B: SCAN TOOL DOES NOT COMMUNICATE WITH CLASS 2 DEVICE under SYSTEM TESTS in BODY CONTROL MODULES - ELDORADO article.
- Using scan tool, select DISPLAY DTCs functions for PCM and MMM. If scan tool displays any DTCs, go to next step. If scan tool does not display any DTCs, repair power mirrors as necessary. See POWER MIRRORS - ELDORADO article.
- If scan tool does not display DTCs, U1016, U1064, U1255 or U1300, go to next step. If scan tool displays DTCs U1016, U1064, U1255 or U1300, perform TEST B: SCAN TOOL DOES NOT COMMUNICATE WITH CLASS 2 DEVICE under SYSTEM TESTS in BODY CONTROL MODULES - ELDORADO article.
- If scan tool does not display DTCs B1656 or B1658, go to next step. If scan tool displays DTCs B1656 or B1658, perform appropriate test in accordance with DTC retrieved. See DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE DEFINITIONS in BODY CONTROL MODULES - ELDORADO article.
- If scan tool displays DTCs B2130, B2131, B2132 or B2133, repair power seats as necessary. See POWER SEATS - ELDORADO article. If scan tool does not display DTCs B2130, B2131, B2132 or B2133, repair power windows by symptom. See SYMPTOM INDEX table under SYSTEM TESTS.
