Charge Indicator Light Always On
- Connect scan tool. With scan tool, observe IGNITION 1 parameter in Powertrain Control Module (PCM) data list. If voltage is 11.0-15.5 volts, go to next step. If voltage is not 11.0-15.5 volts, check generator. See GENERATOR FUNCTIONAL TEST .
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect PCM connector C1. Turn ignition on. If charge indicator light is not on, go to next step. If charge indicator light is still on, replace instrument cluster. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Reconnect all connectors and recheck system.
- Check PCM connector. Clean or repair connector as necessary. If no problem is found, replace PCM. See POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE (PCM) under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Recheck system.
