DTC B2478: Reverse Light Relay Shorted To Battery: Testing
- If lighting system diagnostic system check has been performed, go to next step. If lighting system has not been performed, go to LIGHTING SYSTEM DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
- Remove REVERSE relay from rear compartment relay center No. 4. See Figure . Turn ignition on. Connect test light between ground and REVERSE relay terminal C3 (Dark Green wire). See EXTERIOR LIGHTS article. If test light comes on, go to next step. If test light does not come on, go to step 4 .
- Check for short to voltage in Dark Green wire between rear compartment relay center No. 4 and PZM connector C2 terminal D14. See Figure . If circuit is okay, go to step 5 . If faulty circuit is found and repaired, go to step 6 .
- Replace REVERSE relay. After repairs, go to step 6 .
- Replace PZM. See PLATFORM ZONE MODULE (PZM) under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. After repairs, go to next step.
- Use scan tool to clear DTCs. Recheck system operation. Recheck for DTCs. If DTC resets, go to step 2 . If DTC does not reset, repair is complete.
