Circuit Description

PCM uses CMP sensor signal to determine position of valve train in relation to cylinders. PCM uses CMP signal to sequence ignition system and fuel injectors. PCM supplies power and ground to sensor. CMP sensor returns a signal pulse in response to reluctor track, located on camshaft sprocket. DTC will set when PCM detects an incorrect correlation between CMP signal and CKP signals, engine running at less than 2000 RPM and 24X region between 1-5.
