Test B: Memory Recall Position Inaccurate

  1. Check to see that personalization function has been enabled. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Adjust both outside mirrors to your preference. With memory switch, set personalization recall to your adjustments. Adjust both outside mirrors to an extreme position. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. If both mirrors moved back to your settings, problem is intermittent. If both mirrors did not return to your settings, go to next step.
  2. Install scan tool. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Observe sensor parameters with scan tool in Driver Door Module (DDM) and then Passenger Front Door Module (PFDM) while moving driver door mirror and passenger door mirror. If sensor values changed, check wiring and connections at outside mirror. If wiring and connections are good, replace door module of inoperative mirror. See DOOR MODULE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If sensor values did not change, check wiring and connections at outside mirror. If wiring and connections are good, replace inoperative mirror. See POWER MIRROR ASSEMBLY  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
