Power Mirrors

Power mirrors are controlled by Driver Door Module (DDM) and Passenger Front Door Module (PFDM) in driver and passenger front doors. Control modules move the power mirrors in response to direction from mirror control switches located on Driver Door Switch Assembly (DDSA).

The DDSA, DDM and PFDM are joined together by the Simple Bus Interface (SBI), a serial data circuit unique to door module system. Processor in DDSA detects switch positions of mirror selector and mirror direction switches, then sends this data to DDM via SBI. DDM then either powers driver door mirror motor circuits or sends data to PFDM. PFDM then powers passenger door mirror motor circuits.
