DTC B2419: Ambient Light Sensor Circuit Problem: Description
Instrument Panel Integration Module (IPM) receives an input from ambient light sensor. IPM supplies ground for sensor through sensor return circuit. Sensor resistance is 2.3 k/ohms for bright light and 3.1 k/ohms or greater for complete darkness. As resistance varies, voltage input to IPM changes.
IPM determines whether it is light or dark outside, then sends a message via class 2 serial data line to Dash Integration Module (DIM) and Rear Integration Module (RIM).
IPM will set DTC anytime it detects that ambient sensor input voltage is out of range. When DTC is set, IPM will assume ambient light level is dark and send signals accordingly.
