DTC B1399: Loss Of KDD Main Control Head: Testing

  1. If body control system diagnostic check has been performed, go to next step. If body control system diagnostic check has not been performed, perform body control system diagnostic check. See BODY CONTROL SYSTEM DIAGNOSTIC CHECK  under SYSTEM TESTS.
  2. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Use scan tool to clear any DTCs. Turn ignition switch OFF and back to ON position. Recheck for DTCs. If DTC B1399 resets, go to next step. If DTC B1399 does not reset, system is okay at this time. Go to BODY CONTROL SYSTEM DIAGNOSTIC CHECK  under SYSTEM TESTS.
  3. Replace IPM. See INSTRUMENT PANEL INTEGRATION MODULE (IPM)  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. After replacing IPM, go to next step.
  4. Reconnect all components and connectors. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Using scan tool, clear DTCs. After clearing DTCs, perform body control system diagnostic check. See BODY CONTROL SYSTEM DIAGNOSTIC CHECK  under SYSTEM TESTS.
