DTC B0533: Fuel Sensor Feedback Shorted High: Description
With ignition switch in ON position, Rear Integration Module (RIM) reads fuel level between terminals A7 (Purple wire) and B3 (Black wire) on RIM connector C1. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . Fuel level sensor resistance is 40 ohms when tank is empty or 250 ohms when tank is full. RIM transfers fuel data to Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) through a class 2 serial data line every .5 liter change in fuel level. This data is used to determine proper fuel gauge pointer position.
Conditions for setting DTC:
- DTC B0533 only sets if DTC B1327 or B1328 is not current in RIM memory.
- DTC will set if fuel sensor is shorted to battery voltage.
- Resistance between fuel sensor terminals is less than 25 ohms for 10 seconds.
