DTC B0532: Fuel Level Sensor Shorted To Ground Or Open: Description
With ignition switch in ON position, Rear Integration Module (RIM) reads fuel level between terminals A7 (Purple wire) and B3 (Black wire) on RIM connector C1. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . Fuel level sensor resistance is 40 ohms (when tank is empty) or 250 ohms (when tank is full). RIM transfers fuel data to Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) through a class 2 serial data line every .5 liter change in fuel level. This data is used to determine proper fuel gauge pointer position.
Conditions for setting DTC:
- DTC B0532 only sets if DTC B1327 or B1328 is not current in RIM memory.
- DTC will set if fuel sensor feedback is open or shorted to ground, or resistance is greater than 276 ohms for 60 seconds.
