Charge Indicator Always On

  1. Check battery. Charge or replace as necessary. Go to next step.
  2. Check generator. See GENERATOR FUNCTIONAL CHECK  under SYSTEM TESTS. Repair or replace as necessary. See GENERATOR  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Go to next step.
  3. Turn ignition off. Disconnect PCM connector C1. Turn ignition on. If indicator is not on, go to next step. If indicator is still on, replace instrument cluster. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Reconnect all connectors and recheck system.
  4. Check PCM connector. Clean or repair as necessary. If no problem is found, replace PCM. Replace PCM. See POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE (PCM)  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Recheck system.
