Test 8: Left Rear Window Inoperative From Front Console Switch
- If power window system check was performed, go to next step. If power window system check was not performed, perform system check. See SYSTEM CHECK under TROUBLE SHOOTING.
- Close all doors. Disconnect left rear window regulator motor connector. Using DVOM connected to ground, measure voltage at left rear window regulator motor connector terminal No. 1 (Red wire). If battery voltage exists, go to step 4 . If battery voltage does not exist, go to next step.
- Repair open or high resistance in Red wire between left rear window regulator motor and splice S272. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . After repair is complete, go to step 13 .
- Using DVOM connected to ground, measure resistance of Black wire at left rear window regulator motor connector terminal No. 4. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to step 6 . If resistance is 5 ohms or more, go to next step.
- Repair open or high resistance in Black wire between left rear window regulator motor connector terminal No. 4 and splice S700. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . After repair is complete, go to step 13 .
- Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Using DVOM connected to ground, measure voltage at left rear window regulator motor connector terminal No. 2 (Gray/Green wire). Press left rear window switch in front console to UP position. If battery voltage exists, go to step 8 . If battery voltage does not exist, go to next step.
- Check for open or high resistance in Gray/Green wire between left rear window switch in front console and left rear window regulator motor connector terminal No. 2. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . Repair as necessary. If Gray/Green wire is okay, replace left rear window switch in front console. See WINDOW SWITCH under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. After repair is complete, go to step 13 .
- Using DVOM connected to ground, measure voltage at left rear window regulator motor connector terminal No. 3 (Blue/Red wire). Press left rear window switch in front console to DOWN position. If battery voltage exists, go to step 10 . If battery voltage does not exist, go to next step.
- Check for open or high resistance in Blue/Red wire between left rear window switch in front console and left rear window regulator motor connector terminal No. 3. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . Repair as necessary. If Blue/Red wire is okay, replace left rear window switch in front console. See WINDOW SWITCH under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. After repair is complete, go to step 13 .
- Using DVOM connected to ground, measure voltage at left rear window regulator motor connector terminal No. 5 (Yellow wire). If battery voltage exists, go to next step. If battery voltage does not exist, go to step 12 .
- Replace left rear window regulator motor. See WINDOW REGULATOR & MOTOR under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. After repair is complete, go to step 13 .
- Repair open or high resistance in Yellow wire between left rear window regulator motor connector terminal No. 5 and splice S313. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . After repair is complete, go to step 13 .
- Connect all connectors and components that were disconnected. Verify left rear window operates properly. If left rear window does not operate properly, go to step 1 .
