Test 6: Left Front Window Inoperative
- If power window system check was performed, go to next step. If power window system check was not performed, perform system check. See SYSTEM CHECK under TROUBLE SHOOTING.
- Disconnect left front window regulator motor connector. Using DVOM connected to ground, measure voltage at left front window regulator motor connector terminal No. 1 (Red wire). If battery voltage exists, go to step 4 . If battery voltage does not exist, go to next step.
- Repair open or high resistance in Red wire between left front window regulator motor and splice S271. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . After repair is complete, go to step 13 .
- Using DVOM connected to ground, measure resistance of Black wire at left front window regulator motor connector terminal No. 4. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to step 6 . If resistance is 5 ohms or more, go to next step.
- Repair open or high resistance in Black wire between left front window regulator motor connector terminal No. 4 and splice S502. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . After repair is complete, go to step 13 .
- Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Press left front window switch to UP position. Using DVOM connected to ground, measure voltage at left front window regulator motor connector terminal No. 2 (Gray/Green wire). If battery voltage exists, go to step 8 . If battery voltage does not exist, go to next step.
- Check for open or high resistance in Gray/Green wire between left front window switch and left front window regulator motor connector terminal No. 2. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . Repair as necessary. If Gray/Green wire okay, replace left front window switch. See WINDOW SWITCH under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. After repair is complete, go to step 13 .
- Press left front window switch to DOWN position. Using DVOM connected to ground, measure voltage at left front window regulator motor connector terminal No. 3 (Blue/Red wire). If battery voltage exists, go to step 10 . If battery voltage does not exist, go to next step.
- Repair open or high resistance in Blue/Red wire between left front window switch and left front window regulator motor connector terminal No. 3. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . After repair is complete, go to step 13 .
- Using DVOM connected to ground, measure voltage at left front window regulator motor connector terminal No. 5 (Brown/Yellow wire). If battery voltage exists, go to next step. If battery voltage does not exist, go to step 12 .
- Replace left front window regulator motor. See WINDOW REGULATOR & MOTOR under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. After repair is complete, go to step 13 .
- Check for open or high resistance in Brown/Yellow wire between connector C500 and left front window regulator motor connector terminal No. 5. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . Repair as necessary. If Brown/Yellow wire is okay, check Yellow wire between connector C500 and splice S313 for an open or high resistance. Repair as necessary. After repair is complete, go to next step.
- Connect all connectors and components that were disconnected. Verify left front window operates properly. If left front window does not operate properly, go to step 1 .
