Test 1: All Windows Inoperative

  1. If power window system check was performed, go to next step. If power window system check was not performed, perform system check. See SYSTEM CHECK  under TROUBLE SHOOTING.
  2. Close all doors. Disconnect left front window switch connector C1. Using DVOM connected to ground, measure voltage at left front window switch connector C1 terminal No. 7 (Red wire). If battery voltage exists, go to step  4 . If battery voltage does not exist, go to next step.
  3. Check PWF fuse No. 1 (30-amp) in fuse block. See COMPONENT LOCATIONS  . Repair open or short to ground in Red wire between left front window switch connector terminal No. 7 and PWF fuse No. 1 (30-amp) in fuse block. After repair is complete, go to step  15 .
  4. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Using DVOM connected to ground, measure voltage at left front window switch connector C1 terminal No. 6 (Brown wire). If battery voltage exists, go to step  6 . If battery voltage does not exist, go to next step.
  5. Repair open in Brown wire between left front window switch connector C1 terminal No. 6 and splice S308. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . After repair is complete, go to step  15 .
  6. Using DVOM, check continuity between ground and left front window switch connector C1 terminal No. 9 (Gray wire). If continuity exists, go to step  12 . If continuity does not exist, go to next step.
  7. Disconnect left front window switch connector C2. Using DVOM, measure resistance between ground and left front window switch connector C2 terminal "A" (Brown wire). If resistance is 5 ohms or more, go to next step. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to step  11 .
  8. Disconnect right front window switch connector. Using DVOM, measure resistance between ground and right front window switch connector terminal No. 5 (Black wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, go to step  10 .
  9. Repair open or high resistance in wire between right front window switch connector terminal No. 5 and left front window switch connector C2 terminal "A". See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . After repair is complete, go to step  15 .
  10. Repair open or high resistance in Black wire between right front window switch connector terminal No. 5 and ground connection G200. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . After repair is complete, go to step  15 .
  11. Connect left front window switch connectors C1 and C2. Connect right front window switch connector. Using DVOM connected to ground, measure voltage (backprobe) at right front window switch connector terminal No. 6 (Black wire). If battery voltage exists, go to step  13 . If battery voltage does not exist, go to step  14 .
  12. Check for short to ground in Gray wire between left front window switch connector C1 terminal No. 9 and BCM connector C1 terminal BO2. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Repair as necessary. If Gray wire is okay, replace left front side door jamb switch. See DOOR JAMB SWITCH  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. After repair is complete, go to step  15 .
  13. Check for open or high resistance in Black wire between right front window switch connector terminal No. 6 and splice S313. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Repair as necessary. If Black wire is okay, replace left front window switch. See WINDOW SWITCH  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. After repair is complete, go to step  15 .
  14. Check for open or high resistance in Black wire between right front window switch connector terminal No. 6 and left front window switch connector C2 terminal "B". See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Repair as necessary. If Black wire is okay, replace left front window switch. See WINDOW SWITCH  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. After repair is complete, go to next step.
  15. Connect any disconnected connectors. Retest system operation.
