Pressure Switch Assembly
- Install Jumper Harness (J39775) to transaxle 20-pin connector. Using DVOM, measure resistance between terminal "N" of 20-pin connector and ground. See Figure . If resistance is more than 1000 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is less than 1000 ohms, inspect and repair range "A" circuit between TFP valve position switch and 20-pin connector, then go to step 7). See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If circuit is okay, replace TFP valve position switch, then go to step 7).
- Measure resistance between terminal "R" of 20-pin connector and ground. If resistance is more than 1000 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is less than 1000 ohms, inspect and repair range "B" circuit between TFP valve position switch and 20-pin connector, then go to step 7). See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If circuit is okay, replace TFP valve position switch, then go to step 7).
- Measure resistance between terminal "P" of 20-pin connector and ground. If resistance is more than 1000 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is less than 1000 ohms, inspect and repair range "C" circuit between TFP valve position switch and 20-pin connector, then go to step 7). See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If circuit is okay, replace TFP valve position switch, then go to step 7).
- Start engine and allow to idle. Place gear selector in "R" position. Measure resistance between terminal "N" of 20-pin connector and ground. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, inspect and repair range "A" circuit between TFP valve position switch and 20-pin connector, then go to step 7). If circuit is okay, replace TFP valve position switch, then go to step 7).
- Measure resistance between terminal "R" of 20-pin connector and ground. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, inspect and repair range "B" circuit between TFP valve position switch and 20-pin connector, then go to step 7). If circuit is okay, replace TFP valve position switch, then go to step 7).
- Shift gear selector to "D4". Measure resistance between terminal "P" of 20-pin connector and ground. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, replace TFP valve position switch, then go to next step. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, inspect and repair range "C" circuit between TFP valve position switch and 20-pin connector, then go to next step. If circuit is okay, replace TFP valve position switch, then go to next step.
- After repair is complete, select DTC on scan tool. Select "Clear Info" function. Test drive vehicle. Ensure transaxle upshifts and downshifts correctly. Select "Specific DTC" and enter DTC "P1810". If DTC P1810 is not present, repair is complete. If DTC P1810 is still present, go to step 24) of DTC P1810 under DIAGNOSTIC TESTS .
