DTC B2243: Memory Set Switch Failed: Description

Left Front Power Window Switch (LFPWS) receives an active high input from memory function switch memory SET button when actuated. LFPWS recognizes input and sends a message over Simple Bus Interface (SBI) to Left Front Door Module (LFDM) indicating that memory SET button has been depressed. LFDM then sends a message over Class 2 Serial Data Line to Memory Seat Module (MSM), Steering Column Tilt/Telescoping Module (TTM) and Radio (IRC) indicating that memory SET button has been depressed.

DTC B2243 will set when memory 1 switch is active for 30 seconds continuously, switch will be considered shorted. DTCs B1982 (battery voltage high) or B1983 (battery voltage low) must not be current or diagnostic will not run. No driver warning message will appear. LFDM will no longer respond to memory SET switch inputs. LFDM will continue to respond to valid inputs from other memory function switches.

Under all fault conditions, DTC B2243 will clear automatically when LFDM longer sees memory switch is no longer active. Current and history DTCs can also be cleared using scan tool or On-Board system diagnostic feature.
