Check Coolant Level Message Inoperative

  1. Disconnect coolant level switch connector. Connect a fused jumper wire between coolant level switch harness connector terminals "A" (Light Green wire) and "B" (Black wire). Turn ignition switch to RUN position. If CHECK COOLANT LEVEL message is displayed on driver's message center, go to step 6). If CHECK COOLANT LEVEL message is not displayed on driver's message center, go to next step.
  2. Disconnect IPC Gray 24-pin connector C2. Connect a test light between IPC harness connector C2, terminal A10 (Light Green wire) and battery voltage. If test light illuminates, go to step 7). If test light does not illuminate, go to next step.
  3. Connect a fused jumper wire between coolant level switch harness connector terminal "A" (Light Green wire) and ground. If test light illuminates, go to step 5). If test light does not illuminate, go to next step.
  4. Repair open in Light Green wire between coolant level switch and IPC connector C2. Recheck system operation.
  5. Repair open in Black wire between coolant level switch and ground. Recheck system operation.
  6. Replace coolant level switch. Recheck system operation.
  7. Replace IPC. See INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC)  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Perform IPC DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  under DIAGNOSTIC TESTING.
