A/C-Heater Programmer: Notes
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1998 Cadillac Eldorado and 1998 Cadillac DeVille. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
The A/C-Heater Programmer (ACM) is located behind the glove box, attached to bracket next to right end of HVAC module assembly. The ACM controls temperature regulation through control of the air-mix valve motor. Air mix valve motor provides a feedback signal to indicate valve position. ACM also controls 4 vacuum solenoids which control air inlet-recirculation valve, A/C defrost valve, up-down valve and parking brake release. The ACM is equipped with a self-diagnostic function.
