DTC 18: Left Mirror Inoperative
- Connect scan tool to data link connector, located near left side of steering column. Using scan tool, establish communication with driver seat adjuster memory module. If scan tool communicates with driver seat adjuster memory module, go to step 5). If scan tool does not communicate with driver seat adjuster memory module, go to next step.
- Disconnect driver seat adjuster memory module, located under driver's seat. Using DVOM, check resistance between DLC terminal No. 7 (Brown/White wire) and driver seat adjuster memory module harness connector C1 terminal No. 6 (Brown/White wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to step 4). If resistance is not less than 5 ohms, go to next step.
- Repair open or high resistance in Brown/White wire(s) between DLC and driver seat adjuster memory module. Recheck system operation.
- Replace driver seat adjuster memory module. See SEATS - POWER article. Recheck system operation.
- Using scan tool, check for DTCs. If only DTC 18 exists, go to next step. If only DTC 19 exists, go to DTC 19: INSIDE MIRROR INOPERATIVE. If only DTC 20 exists, go to DTC 20: RIGHT MIRROR INOPERATIVE. If DTCs 18, 19 and 20 are set, go to DTCS 18, 19 & 20 ARE SET.
- Disconnect left mirror connector. Using DVOM, check voltage between left mirror harness connector terminal No. 6 (Gray wire) and ground. If reading is 0.14-4.67 volts, go to step 8). If reading is not 0.14-4.67 volts, go to next step.
- Check for open, high resistance, or short to ground or voltage in Gray wire(s) between left mirror and driver seat adjuster memory module. Repair as necessary. If circuit is okay, replace driver seat adjuster memory module. See SEATS - POWER article. Recheck system operation.
- Using DVOM, check voltage between left mirror harness connector terminal No. 7 (Gray/Green wire) and ground. If reading is 0.14-4.67 volts, go to step 10). If reading is not 0.14-4.67 volts, go to next step.
- Check for open, high resistance, or short to ground or voltage in Gray/Green wire(s) between left mirror and driver seat adjuster memory module. Repair as necessary. If circuit is okay, replace driver seat adjuster memory module. See SEATS - POWER article. Recheck system operation.
- Using DVOM, check resistance between left mirror terminals No. 5 (Black/Brown wire) and No. 6 (Gray wire). If resistance is 1.2-2.8k/ohms, go to step 12). If resistance is not 1.2-2.8 k/ohms, go to next step.
- Replace left mirror. See POWER MIRROR ASSEMBLY under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Recheck system operation.
- Check resistance between left mirror terminals No. 5 (Black/Brown wire) and No. 7 (Gray/Green wire). If resistance is 1.2-2.8k/ohms, go to next step. If resistance is not 1.2-2.8 k/ohms, go tostep 11).
- Reconnect all disconnected components. Reprogram driver seat adjuster memory module. See PROGRAMMING MEMORY MODULE in SEATS - POWER article. Recheck system operation.
