DTC 71 - Electronic Brake & Traction Control Module (EBTCM) Internal Fault: Notes

EBTCM performs diagnostic checks on itself. If it finds a problem, DTC 71 will set.

Conditions that will cause DTC 71 to set are an EBTCM internal error, pump motor relay failure, valve relay failure, open in motor power circuit No. 1042 to EBTCM terminal No. 2, or Maxi-Fuse No. 5 open.

1. Checks for proper system voltage at motor input.
2. Checks for good connections from the harness to the EBTCM.
3. Checks to see if the fault was false. if DTC 71 resets, replace the EBTCM.
