One Mirror Does Not Operate In Up/Down Or Left/Right Position
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect mirror control switch connector. Check for continuity between mirror switch connector terminals. See MIRROR CONTROL SWITCH CONTINUITY TEST
table. If continuity is not present, replace mirror control switch. If continuity is present between mirror control switch terminals, go to next step.MIRROR CONTROL SWITCH CONTINUITY TEST

Disconnect suspect outside mirror 8-pin Black connector. Place mirror control switch in suspect outside mirror position (left or right). With control switch at rest, measure voltage at suspect mirror connector terminal "A". If zero volts are present, go to next step. If battery voltage is present, repair short to battery voltage in Light Green wire circuit (left) or Purple/White wire circuit (right) between mirror and mirror control switch.
- With joystick in down position, battery voltage should be present at suspect mirror connector terminal "A". If battery voltage is present, go to next step. If battery voltage is not present, repair open or short to ground in Light Green wire circuit (left) or Purple/White wire circuit (right) between mirror and mirror control switch.
- With control switch at rest, measure voltage at suspect mirror connector terminal "B". If zero volts are present, go to next step. If battery voltage is present, repair short to battery voltage in White wire circuit (left) or Red/White wire circuit (right) between mirror and mirror control switch.
- With joystick in right position, battery voltage should be present at suspect mirror connector terminal "B". If battery voltage is present, go to next step. If battery voltage is not present, repair open or short to ground in White wire circuit (left) or Red/White wire circuit (right) between mirror and mirror control switch.
- With control switch at rest, measure voltage at suspect mirror connector terminal "C". If zero volts are present, go to next step. If battery voltage is present, repair short to battery voltage in Light Green wire circuit (left) or Purple/White wire circuit (right) between mirror and mirror control switch.
- With joystick in left position, battery voltage should be present at suspect mirror connector terminal "C". If battery voltage is present, go to next step. If battery voltage is not present, repair open or short to ground in Light Green wire circuit (left) or Purple/White wire circuit (right) between mirror and mirror control switch.
- With control switch at rest, measure voltage at suspect mirror connector terminal "D". If zero volts are present, go to next step. If battery voltage is present, repair short to battery voltage in Yellow wire circuit (left) or Brown/White wire circuit (right) between mirror and mirror control switch.
- With joystick in left position, battery voltage should be present at suspect mirror connector terminal "D". If battery voltage is present, go to next step. If battery voltage is not present, repair open or short to ground in Yellow wire circuit (left) or Brown/White wire circuit (right) between mirror and mirror control switch.
- If voltage measurements in steps 2)-9) are as specified, replace suspect outside mirror assembly.
