Lower Control Assembly: Removal

  1. Raise vehicle and support.
  2. Remove bottom pan and seal, scavenger screens and lip seals. See SCAVENGER SCREENS & LIP SEALS  .
  3. Use a small screwdriver to disconnect shift solenoids "A", "B" and transaxle pressure switch connectors by prying back small tabs. See Fig 1 .
  4. Remove manual valve linkage clip (915) using small screwdriver.
  5. Remove wiring harness from retaining clips on lower controls assembly.
  6. Remove oil transfer plate (956).
  7. Remove bolts (534), 2 nuts (955) using 10 mm socket. Do not remove the five indicated bolts in lower channel plate. Lower channel plate, valve assembly and accumulator assembly (903) (lower controls assembly) from case. See Fig 2 .
