TECH 1 Method

The TECH 1 can clear ABS/TCS diagnostic trouble codes using the Mass Storage Cartridge.

1. Install the TECH 1 and cartridge.
2. Select TCS system features.
3. Select F2: DTC (Codes).
4. Select 'Clear Codes'

After clearing codes, wait 15 seconds before turning the ignition off to allow the EBTCM to recognize the TECH 1 request and actually clear the codes. Failure to do so may result in an apparent recurrence of a fault code on the next ignition cycle, when, in actuality, the code was never fully cleared during the ignition cycle when the TECH 1 was used.

Also, note that the ignition should be turned off and the TECH 1 disconnected before a road test to check system operation and/or for a code resetting. This is necessary because the EBTCM will not set Diagnostic Trouble Codes and the ABS/TCS control functions are disabled when the TECH 1 is installed and monitoring the system. The TECH 1 will log codes during some of its diagnostic routines.
