Abs Auto Self Test
The EBTCM performs the following auto self-tests:
- PORS (Power On RESET)
At Key ON, EBTCM/EBCM cycles the valve relay (ON-OFF-ON), checks the current level of the valves and performs a continuity check of the wheel speed sensors. - BITE (Built In Test Equipment) Start (At Key ON)
EBTCM/EBCM cycles all valves and runs pump as vehicle reference speed (see below) passes 3.3 MPH (6 kph). - BITE Drive
EBTCM/EBCM activates all ABS valves (pressure HOLD and then INCREASE) as vehicle reference speed goes from 3.6 MPH (6 kph) to 7.2 MPH (12 kph), then to 0 MPH (0 kph), and finally to 3.6 MPH (6 kph) once again.
If any error is detected, the EBTCM will set a Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) as described above. The BITE Test may by heard and felt while it is taking place and is a normal mode of operation.
