Description & Operation: Notes
The Allante seats can be adjusted for maximum comfort by using the seat control switches which are located on the outboard side of each seat. See Fig 1 .
The left and right power seat switches receive battery voltage at all times regardless of the position of the ignition key. The power seat switches supply voltage to all seat control motors through a system of relays. Both seats contain motors that enable the seat to move forward/rearward and up/down. They also feature power reclining and power lumbar motors for added comfort.
There are four reversible motors that operate the power seats. The front and back height of a seat are operated by different motors. They can be raised or lowered independently of each other. When the entire seat switch is pushed to the UP and DOWN position, both motors run to move the front and back of the seat at the same time.
Allante seats are equipped with an inertia seatback lock system. This system allows the seatback to be tilted forward for access to the rear storage area without having to release a lock lever. On a sudden stop or if the front of the vehicle is declined about 19 degrees or more, the seatback inertia locking system locks the seatbacks in an upright position. A manually operated seatback inertia lock release Lever is provided to allow release of the inertia lock (pendulum) when the front of the vehicle is declined 19 degrees or more.
