Pcm EEPROM
The PCM contains a data storage unit which can save critical data even when battery power is removed. This unit, Electrically Erasable Programmable Read Only Memory (EEPROM) is used by PCM to store TP Sensor/Idle Learned values, Transaxle Shift Adapt values, Transaxle Oil Life Index and Cruise Control Lash learn.
These values are stored in EEPROM during first 30 seconds after key is turned "OFF". Therefore, you should wait at least 30 seconds after key "OFF" before disconnecting battery to allow these values to be stored in EEPROM. The EEPROM is soldered into PCM and cannot be serviced separately.
CAUTION:
Disconnecting battery before PCM is able to store values may result in EEPROM reset, Code P080 and transaxle oil life being reset to 0.
