Parking Brake
- Apply and release service brake several times. Fully apply and release parking brake several times (may require up to 4 pedal strokes) using approximately 125 lb. (57 kg) pedal force on final stroke.
- Ensure parking brake is fully released by turning ignition switch on and observing BRAKE warning light. Light should be off. If BRAKE warning light is on and parking brake appears to be fully released, operate manual pedal release lever and pull downward on front parking brake cable to remove slack from pedal assembly.
- Raise and support vehicle. Ensure parking brake levers on rear calipers are against stops. If levers are not against stops, check for binding in rear parking brake cables and position levers against stops.
- Tighten parking brake cable at adjuster until either left or right lever begins to move off stop. Loosen adjuster until lever that moved off stop is resting against stop. Ensure both levers are resting against stops. Operate parking brake several times to check adjustment. Ensure levers are resting against stops.
