Forward Servo Assembly: Reassembly

  1. Install servo cushion spring retainer and forward servo cushion spring onto forward band apply pin. See Figure .
  2. Install NEW piston oil seal ring onto forward servo piston.
  3. Install servo return spring into forward servo piston.
  4. Install forward servo piston onto band apply pin.
  5. Install internal retaining ring.
  6. Install NEW "O" ring seal on forward servo cover. Lubricate "O" ring with TRANSJEL(tm) or equivalent.
  7. Install forward piston assembly into forward servo cover.
    8. CAUTION: Forward servo cover "O" ring seal could be cut if cover is cocked during assembly to case.
  8. Install forward servo assembly into case.
  9. Hold forward servo cover to case while installing servo cover bolts. This will help prevent stripped threads. Tighten bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
