Disassembly & Inspection
- Clean control valve assembly in clean solvent. Move valves with a pick or small screwdriver to ensure any dirt or debris is dislodged. DO NOT clean solenoids in solvent. Air dry.
- Position control valve assembly on a clean surface. Remove valve trains beginning with upper left corner of valve body. Valves, springs and bushings must be laid out on a clean surface exactly the way they are removed.
- Clean all valves, springs and bushings in solvent, then dry using compressed air.
- Inspect the following:
- Shift solenoids and PWM solenoids for cut "O" ring, bent electrical connector or broken wire, cracked or damaged plastic housing and foreign material.
- All valves and bushings for wear, nicks and scratches.
- Springs for damaged or distorted coils.
- Valve body casting for porosity, interconnected oil passages, damaged machined surfaces and damaged pump shaft bearing.
CAUTION:
Some valves are under spring pressure. Cover end of bore when removing roll pins.
