Channel Plate Assembly: Reassembly

  1. Install converter clutch accumulator piston with NEW piston seal into channel plate (some models). See Figure .
  2. Install 3-4 accumulator springs into 3-4 canister cover.
  3. Install 3-4 accumulator piston with NEW seal into 3-4 accumulator canister.
  4. Install 3-4 accumulator pin through piston.
  5. Install 3-4 accumulator assembly with NEW "O" ring into channel plate.
  6. Install thrust washer. Retain with TRANSJEL(tm) or equivalent.
  7. Install thrust bearing onto channel plate. See Figure .
  8. Install manual valve with link retainer and manual valve link into channel plate.
  9. Install upper and lower channel plate gaskets. Install converter clutch accumulator spring into case (some models). Install channel plate dowel pins and channel plate assembly onto case. See Fig 1 .
  10. Install and tighten channel plate bolts. See Figure .
  11. Install converter clutch accumulator pin through channel plate (some models).
  12. Install control valve body alignment sleeve into channel plate.
  13. Connect manual valve link to manual valve.
  14. Install manual detent spring and roller assembly and bolt. See Figure .
