Front Wheel Speed Sensor: Installation

NOTE: Proper installation of wheel speed sensor cables is critical to continued system operation. Be sure that cables are installed in retainers. Failure to install cables in retainers may result in contact with moving parts and/or over extension of cables, resulting in an open circuit.
NOTE: If the wheel speed sensor is removed or replaced, the sensor body must be coated with GM anti-corrosion compound P/N 1052856 or equivalent where the sensor comes in contact with the knuckle.
  1. Route sensor cable and install in retainers. Install wheelhouse pass-through grommet.
  2. Position sensor in knuckle and install mounting bolt. Tighten mounting bolt to 106 INCH lbs. (12 N.m).
  3. Lower vehicle.
  4. Connect wheel speed sensor connector underhood.
