Hydraulic Unit: Notes

The Bosch III Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) utilizes an integral hydraulic unit, mounted on the cowl, which provides the functions of booster and master cylinder. See Fig 1. In addition, the hydraulic unit provides brake fluid pressure modulation for each of the individual wheel circuits as required during anti-lock braking. The hydraulic unit consists of several independent components which are described below.
