If Code EO34 is stored hard along with Code EO38, this condition is probably caused by an open in ground circuit No. 469 for the MAP and MAT sensors. To verify this condition, probe the following harness terminals with a voltmeter to 12 volts: MAT sensor terminal "A" and MAP sensor harness terminal "A".
If voltage is zero at sensors, check for an open between ECM and splice. If 5 volts is present at sensors, follow the diagnostic chart for each individual code. Diagnose Code EO34 first and Code EO38 last.
