Action Taken

ECM turns on the "Service Engine Soon" telltale; closed loop operation will be disabled.

NOTE: The following step numbers refer to circled numbers on diagnostic chart. See Fig 1 . For circuit identification, see Figure .
  1. A voltage of .42 to .48 voltage displayed is a reference from the ECM. The Oxygen Sensor must generate a .15 volts greater than the .45 reference to register a Oxygen Sensor Cross Count in the ECM.
  2. The ECM compares voltage on CKT 912 to the ground on CKT 413. It is essential that the oxygen sensor ground and ECM ground on pin E15 are at the same voltage potential with the engine running.
