The Red BRAKE warning lamp in the IPC is powered through the IP fuse (fuse No. 1 in the front fuse panel) through CKT 250, and receives 12 volts any time that the ignition is in the RUN position. For circuit description, see Figure . There are 3 methods by which the BRAKE lamp can be turned on, including:

1. Grounding CKT 852.
2. The BCM can turn the BRAKE lamp on by means of the serial data communication link (CKT 800).
3. The BRAKE lamp will turn on any time the ABS/TCS has been disabled by the EBCM. The EBCM will hold the ABS/TCS fault line at ground.
