Failure Detection
Wheel speed sensor faults are detected by the EBCM when the vehicle is driven over 4 MPH (6 kph). The EBCM will check the signal of all 4 wheel speed sensors when the ignition is turned ON. Once the vehicle begins to move the EBCM can determine which sensor is sending an incorrect signal and will then command the ABS/TCS to shutdown, if a fault is detected. The Red BRAKE light will turn on and the ANTI-LOCK DISABLED and TRACTION DISABLED messages will appear on the CCDIC.
