Hydraulic Unit: Notes

The Bosch III Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) utilizes an integral hydraulic unit, mounted on the cowl, which provides the functions of booster and master cylinder. See Fig 1 . In addition, the hydraulic unit provides brake fluid pressure modulation for each of the individual wheel circuits as required during anti-lock braking. The hydraulic unit consists of several independent components which are described below.
