Stall After Start
- Inspect vacuum hoses and electrical connections. Ensure hot air tube is connected to air cleaner. Check air cleaner thermostatic valve operation.
- Check PCV and EGR valve operation. Check Electronic Spark Timing (EST) if engine will run with EST disabled. Check fuel pressure. Fuel pressure should be a steady 9-12 psi (.6-.8 kg/cm2 ) in all speed ranges.
- If fuel pressure is not within specification, see appropriate A-4 FUEL SYSTEM DIAGNOSIS CHART in COMPUTERIZED ENGINE CONTROL section. Check for overcharged A/C system or inoperative cooling fan.
- Check for plugged or restricted fuel lines. Check for defective ignition system. Check for restricted exhaust system.
