Abs Functional Check
If the ABS condition is not resolved as a result of the Visual Inspection, the ABS Functional Check should then be performed. See Fig 1 .
The ABS Functional Check may lead to several different test methods and various types of diagnostic charts. Due to the fact that ABS trouble codes are erased upon key-off, it may be necessary to test drive the vehicle in an attempt to set and display any ABS trouble codes which may be present. Information regarding the test drive procedure may be found below.
If no ABS codes are present, diagnose ABS using SYMPTOM INDEX under SYSTEM TESTS.
