Hard/Intermittent Code EO20 (Cont.) - Fuel Fuse Blown: Notes
NOTE:
The following step numbers refer to the numbers in the accompanying flow chart(s).
- At key on light should be off or glow for 2 seconds as relay powers up fuel pump.
- If a short is present, it is in circuit No. 120 fuel pump or ECM. Normal circuit resistance is 3-4 ohms.
- Checking for ECM shorting circuit No. 120A to ground.
- Check for short internal to fuel tank.
- Check fuel pump for shorts, check sender harness and check REI suppression connector.
- Check for circuit No. 120 shorted to ground.
- Check for grounded fuel pump test point, then connection at relay center, and oil pressure switch. Diagnose for harness shorted to ground.
- If light is on steadily, the non-switched portion of fuel pump circuit is shorted. Check circuit No. 239.
