Brake System Warning Light

BRAKE light illumination indicates that either the parking brake is engaged or there is a malfunction of the dual hydraulic brake system. The light should come on briefly when ignition switch is turned to the ON position, and go out after engine is started and the parking brake is released. If light stays on or comes on during vehicle operation, service is required.
