DTC B336: Loss Of IPC Serial Data: Intermittents

If only Code B336 shows up as a "History", without any other data codes, check for intermittent faults in the 7 volt power circuit, ground circuit or data line circuit.

NOTE: The following numbered steps refer to circled numbers on diagnostic chart. See Fig 1 or Fig 2 . For circuit identification, see Fig 3.
  1. Checks to see if it is an intermittent condition.
  2. Checks to see if the fault is due to a data circuit problem, or a power or ground circuit problem.
  3. Checks to see if the data circuit problem is due to the IPC or the wiring.
  4. Checks to see if the fault is caused by an open circuit No. 800A, No. 800B or an internal IPC malfunction.
  5. Checks to see if the problem is due to the 7 volt circuits or the ground circuit of the IPC.
  6. Checks for an open ground circuit, faulty IPC or a faulty Central Power Supply (CPS).
NOTE: When all diagnosis and repairs are completed, clear codes and verify operation.
