Injection Nozzles

One injection nozzle is located in each combustion chamber. It has a single fuel inlet fitting and is threaded into cylinder head. Injection nozzles are spring loaded and calibrated to open at specified fuel line pressure. Combustion chamber end of injector has a replaceable copper compression seal. Inlet fitting in body of injector must be tightened to specified torque when installed or checked.

V8 injectors may be identified by a Blue color band, while V6 injectors use a Red color band. If band is missing, identify injector by part number stamped on injector body hex. Number 403 is a V6 nozzle and 404 is a V8 nozzle. See Fig 1 .
