Automatic Temperature Control: Operation: Auto
Regulation of blower speed, discharge air temperature, air delivery mode, system turn-on and compressor operation is accomplished automatically to maintain the temperature dialed at the control panel.
Four blower speeds are available. If the in-car temperature is significantly hotter or colder than the temperature as dialed, the blower will come on at high speed and then sequence down to lower speeds as the dialed temperature is approached.
Discharge air temperature will be varied automatically between approximately 45° and 150°F. If discharge air temperature is above approximately 90°F, the air will be delivered from the heater outlet; below approximately 75°F it will be delivered from the A/C outlets. Between these temperatures, air is delivered from both the heater and A/C outlets (bi-level operation).
If in-car temperature is above approximately 75°F, the system should turn on immediately when the engine is started. Below 75°F, turn-on will be delayed, if the engine is cold, until engine coolant reaches approximately 120°F.
Even when not required for cooling, the compressor will run at all ambient temperatures above approximately 32°F to assure dehumidification of the discharge air. Only outside air is utilized as air supply for the system.
